Damian Fraser
CEO and Founder
Damian Fraser founded Miranda Partners in 2018 after serving as the Managing Director of UBS in Mexico from 2011 to 2018. Before that, he was the Head of Equities and Research for Latin America at UBS since 1998. At the beginning of his career, Damian was a journalist at The Economist (economic correspondent) and the Financial Times (head of the Mexico bureau). He holds a CFA and a Master’s in Public Administration from Harvard University and a Bachelor’s in Economics and Philosophy from Oxford University. He has written several articles and essays on FinTechs, SOFIPOs, regulated banks, and their opportunities and challenges in Mexico.
Gabriela Jiménez
Media Executive Director
Gabriela is a communications specialist and journalist with a focus on corporate consulting in the economic and financial sectors. She served as a correspondent in Mexico for the Spanish newspaper El Economista and as the editorial director of its Mexican portal, EconomíaHoy.mx, as well as a business reporter for La Jornada newspaper. She holds a degree in Communication from Universidad Iberoamericana, a master’s in Journalism and Public Policy from CIDE, and another master’s in Gender Studies from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. In the field of corporate communication, public relations, and crisis management, she has developed and executed strategies for the financial, energy, academic, and consumer sectors.
Laura Camacho
Sr. Analyst
Laura holds a law degree from ITAM and a master’s in Institutional Communication from UP. She is a professional in political communication and public affairs, with experience in media like Reforma and the three branches of the Mexican government. She has worked in the Ministry of Public Education, the Supreme Court, and the Senate. Additionally, she has been a consultant for political campaigns and has worked in the private sectors such as insurance, finance, consumer goods, and technology. She specializes in corporate communication strategies, public affairs, and political-legislative analysis. In her spare time, she participates in book clubs and enjoys cinema and theater.
Sofia Caraza
Sr. Analyst
She has a degree in Communication from the Ibero, specialising in Strategic Communication and a master’s degree in Communication, Marketing and Advertising Management from the IED in Madrid. She is an expert in public relations, communication and event organisation, with more than eight years of experience in Mexico and Spain.
She has worked with national and international clients mainly in the luxury, lifestyle, entertainment and tourism sectors, developing high-impact communication strategies and building a solid network within the PR world.
Outside of work, she enjoys going to the cinema, travelling, watching series and reading.
Sofia Fraser
Sr. Analyst
Sofia specializes in communication strategies for companies, from educational institutions to FinTechs and startups. She holds a degree in Liberal Arts from Sarah Lawrence College in New York. Her experience in the art and events world, as well as the US-Mexico Chamber of Commerce, has made her adept in brand narrative and international communication. As a British and Mexican citizen, she offers a unique perspective. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring cuisines and sharing her culinary passion with friends and family.
Tania Rojas
Sr. Analyst
Tania holds a degree in International Relations and is an expert in internal and external communication, social media, crisis management, and public relations. With experience in various industries, she has specialized in startups, investment funds, and venture capital in the tech sector. She has collaborated with national and international companies, including BP, Stripe, and Arizona State University. Outside of work, she enjoys outdoor activities like hiking and surfing, as well as cultural events in the city.
Karla Ruíz
Sr. Analyst
Karla is a journalist, editor, and content creator specializing in economics, finance, and public policy. She holds a degree from the Carlos Septién School of Journalism and a master’s in Journalism on Public Policies from CIDE. She has experience designing the communications strategy for civil society organizations such as México, ¿cómo vamos?, the Mexican Institute for Competitiveness, and the Mexican Business Council. She has collaborated with media outlets like MVS, Newsweek en Español, Financial Times, Animal Político, Expansión, among others. In her free time, she is a classical and Cuban rhythm dancer.
Sheila Sánchez

Graduating with a degree in Journalism and Media Information from Tec de Monterrey, Sheila has nearly 10 years of experience as a business journalist for prominent media outlets such as CNN Mexico, Expansión, and Forbes, primarily covering the agri-food and consumer sectors in Mexico. She has almost four years of experience as a corporate communications strategist and consultant for multinational companies in the academic, consumer, and logistics sectors. Her passion is telling stories through engaging narratives. Outside the office, Sheila enjoys traveling, attending music festivals and concerts, watching movies, reading, and cooking.
Anya Villanueva
Sr. Analyst
Anya has experience developing and executing B2B and B2C communication strategies, creating narratives, positioning brands, and designing public relations campaigns. She has specialized in consumer electronics, digital services, and entertainment platforms, attending to clients like Google and Huawei. She holds a degree in Journalism and Political Science from the University of New Mexico and a master’s in International Relations from the University of Melbourne. Previously, she was a writer at Publimetro and a communication consultant for the Democratic campaign to the New Mexico State Legislature. In her free time, she enjoys playing tennis, traveling, trying all kinds of food, and skydiving.
Xareni Zafra

Xareni holds a degree in Communication from Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana and over 10 years of experience in social media strategy, content generation with an SEO focus, communication, and public relations. She has held roles as a copywriter and content manager for companies in the financial, real estate, and consumer sectors. She was also an editorial coordinator at Inmobiliare Magazine. Outside of her professional life, she is passionate about traveling, attending concerts, watching movies, and practicing meditation.
Yair Aguayo

Yair holds a degree from the School of Banking and Commerce, and now has over 8 years of experience implementing and optimizing attraction and conversion flows in digital media. He is a specialist in designing, implementing, and optimizing tactics in various digital media that increase brand awareness, convert users into visitors, generate business opportunities, entice consumers, and increase sales. He has worked for brands such as UPAX, Corona Capital, Calahua, and Oriflame, among others. When not working, he is passionate about new technological trends, he enjoys spending time with family, traveling, learning about new cultures, reading thrillers and comics, or playing a musical instrument.
Andrea Chapa

Andrea is an internationalist graduated from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, with more than three years of experience in public affairs consulting, as well as in the Federal Government. She has specialised in monitoring legislative and regulatory processes, analysing public policies and creating strategies to connect with key actors.
Throughout her career, she has worked on important issues on the public agenda, applying her experience in consulting for companies in the technology, energy and extractive sectors. Outside of work, she enjoys playing the piano, reading and attending cultural events.

Ariadna Cortés has a degree in Communication from UNAM, with a pre-specialisation in Organisational Communication and a diploma in Marketing. She has experience as a Community Manager, excelling in content creation, programming publications and metrics analysis. She has worked for Growth Hacking Mexico and Montbau. Passionate about social media and content creation, she founded KcultureMx, a digital media dedicated to reporting news and trends in the world of Kpop and Korean entertainment. Passionate about digital communication and social media, she is interested in building creative narratives that connect with audiences. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and discovering new coffee shops.

Political scientist graduated from Swansea University in Wales, UK, with experience in political analysis and strategic communication. He has worked as a political advisor, designing key strategies to engage with various sectors. He currently advises private sector clients on regulatory analysis, communications risk management and government relations, providing strategic solutions in complex environments.
Sonia Leal

Sonia graduated from UNAM with a degree in Communication and a sub-specialty in Organizational Communication. She has experience in analyzing social media metrics and digital channels. She has worked for brands such as Alsea, Calahua, Va por mi Cuenta, Keds, Westies, Nine Westies, CAT, Acapulcoco, Braskem Idesa, Greenlee, and Viva Aerobus. Passionate about data analysis, corporate and digital communication, and creating marketing strategies, she is interested in building emotional connections between brands and their audiences. She enjoys animated movies and series, and is interested in topics like feminism.

Andrea, with a degree in International Relations and a master’s in Sustainability from Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona, has over 5 years of experience in consulting. She has collaborated with brands such as FacialStats AI Inc, the Government of Ontario, Coppel, and TC Energy. She specializes in assisting foreign companies in Mexico, event management, sector reports, and external content generation, focusing on energy, sustainability, finance, and automotive. Outside of work, she enjoys swimming and hiking.

With experience in consulting and translation, she has developed skills to communicate effectively with people from diverse cultures. Victoria Reyes

Victoria Reyes holds a degree in Political Science from ITAM, as well as coursework in crisis management from University College London. She has experience in research and teaching, quantitative data analysis, and political communication. She has worked for strategic consulting and management firms, as well as in the creation of art and design communities. Currently, she collaborates on projects related to media analysis, public relations, reputation management, events, brand activations, and strategic communication for various organizations. Outside of work, she enjoys experiences related to art, gastronomy, music curation, and travel.
Alejandra Vázquez

Alejandra graduated in International Relations from Tecnológico de Monterrey and completed a Politics program at Georgetown University. She has seven years of experience in consulting and client prospecting for foreign companies in various sectors. She has worked in organizations such as the Senate of the Republic, the Government of Ontario, and the Canadian company FacialStats. She currently focuses on the energy and finance sectors, contributing her experience in implementing communication strategies for bp and HR Ratings. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time outdoors, training in CrossFit, and is a certified professional makeup artist.
Itzel Vázquez

Graduated in Communication and Journalism from UNAM, with a master’s in Audiovisual Business Management from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Itzel has built a solid career in communication. Her experience spans roles in the public sector, such as the Ministry of Labor and the Senate of the Republic, as well as in political campaigns and renowned media outlets like El Financiero.
