Denise Dresser is a Mexican political analyst, columnist and academic.<\/p>

Denise Dresser es profesora de Ciencia Pol\u00edtica en el Instituto Tecnol\u00f3gico Aut\u00f3nomo de M\u00e9xico (ITAM). Obtuvo la licenciatura en Relaciones Internacionales en el Colegio de M\u00e9xico y el doctorado en Ciencia Pol\u00edtica en la Universidad de Princeton.<\/p>

Ha sido investigadora visitante en el Centro de M\u00e9xico-Estados Unidos de la Universidad de California, San Diego, en el Centro de Estudios Internacionales de la Universidad del Sur de California, en el Di\u00e1logo Inter-Americano, en Washington D.C., y profesora visitante en la Universidad de California, Berkeley y la Universidad de Georgetown. Ha recibido becas para la investigaci\u00f3n de la Comisi\u00f3n Fulbright, la OEA, la Universidad de Princeton, y la Fundaci\u00f3n Rockefeller. Fue miembro del Comit\u00e9 Ciudadano de Apoyo a la Fiscal\u00eda Especial para Movimientos Pol\u00edticos y Sociales del Pasado, y Consejera de la Comisi\u00f3n de Derechos Humanos del Distrito Federal. En 2015 fue condecorada con la Legi\u00f3n de Honor por el gobierno de Francia, en reconocimiento a su labor en favor de los derechos humanos y la democracia.<\/p>

Es columnista de la revista Proceso y editorialista del peri\u00f3dico Reforma. Tambi\u00e9n participa en la \u201cMesa Pol\u00edtica\u201d de Carmen Aristegui y en \u201cla Hora de Opinar\u201d con Leo Zuckermann. En 2010 gan\u00f3 el Premio Nacional de Periodismo en la categor\u00eda de art\u00edculo de fondo con \u201cCarta abierta a Carlos Slim\u201d.<\/p>

Dr. Dresser earned her Ph.D. in Politics at Princeton University, where she was a Fulbright Scholar, after completing her undergraduate work at El Colegio de M\u00e9xico. She has received research grants from the Ford Foundation, the Rockefeller Foundation, The Institute for the Study of World Politics, the Center for International Studies at Princeton University, and the Organization of American States. She was given the Junior Third World Scholar award by the International Studies Association.<\/p>

Su \u00faltimo libro es Manifiesto mexicano: c\u00f3mo perdimos el rumbo y c\u00f3mo recuperarlo, un corte de caja de los a\u00f1os del desencanto y un mapa de ruta para fortalecer la democracia y el Estado de Derecho a trav\u00e9s de la participaci\u00f3n ciudadana.<\/p>

She is a winner of the National Journalism Award and was awarded the “Legion of Honor” by the government of France for her work on human rights and freedom of expression in Mexico. Forbes magazine named her one of the 50 most powerful women in Mexico and one of the most influential people on Twitter.<\/p>

She has been named one of the 300 most influential people in Mexico by the magazine L\u00edderes Mexicanos and she won the National Journalism Award in 2010.<\/p>

She is the author of the bestselling \u201cEl Pa\u00eds de uno: reflexiones para entender y cambiar a M\u00e9xico\u201d.<\/p>
