\u00c1lvaro Rodr\u00edguez Arregui is co-founder and managing partner of IGNIA, a venture capital fund focused on Latin American digital companies and global digital companies entering the region.<\/p>

Rodr\u00edguez Arregui was also chairman of Gentera group and Compartamos Banco, considered one of the largest microfinance institutions in the Americas; he also served as chairman of the board for ACCION Internacional, a US-based non profit organization focused on microfinance with more than 60 years of experience in the sector.<\/p>

He currently serves on the board of Harvard University\u00b4s David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies, Social Progress Imperative (co-founder), ITAM Epic Entrepreneurship Center, Harvard Business School, Larin America Advisory Board, and Oxford University Sa\u00efd Business School Global Council<\/p>

His professional career also includes positions as CFO of Vitro, CEO of Farmacias Benavides and CFO of Grupo Elektra.<\/p>

In Mexico, \u00c1lvaro Rodr\u00edguez Arregui studied economics at the Instituto Tecnol\u00f3gico Aut\u00f3nomo de M\u00e9xico (ITAM), and was later awarded the name of distinguished alumnus by the university. He also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Harvard Business School.<\/p>

In 2019, Harvard awarded Rodr\u00edguez Arregui, together with Michael Bloomberg, New York\u00b4s former major, the Distinguished Alumni Award, the highest honor given to an alumnus of that institution, where he currently teaches and mentors students through his role as an Executive Fellow.<\/p>

In 2005, \u00c1lvaro was named Young Global Leader (YGL) by the World Economic Forum (WEF). Forbes placed him as one of the top 30 social entrepreneurs in the world. In 2012, the Young President Organization (YPO) awarded \u00c1lvaro with the SEN Award for Sustainability in Economic Justice\/Community Impact and in 2014, the president of Mexico honoured him with the National Entrepreneurship Award.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
